Peanut Butter Carrot Muffins for Dogs
Wholesome, dog‑friendly muffins made with simple ingredients like peanut butter, carrots, and eggs. Perfect as an occasional treat.

Cook's notes
Always use natural, unsweetened peanut butter with no xylitol, as xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs even in small amounts. Choose peanut butter made from just peanuts (and possibly a little oil) whenever possible. Store in an airtight container for 3–4 days. Freeze for up to 2 months. Serve in moderation as a treat, not a meal replacement. Break into smaller pieces for small dogs or use mini-muffin pan for for bite‑sized treats.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (120g) whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1 cup (237ml) carrots(shredded)
- 2 piece eggs
- 1 cup (237ml) natural unsweetened peanut butter without xylitol(choose a simple peanut butter made from just peanuts and possibly a little oil whenever possible.)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine the all‑purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and baking soda.
- 3
Stir in the shredded carrots, eggs, and natural unsweetened peanut butter (make sure it does not contain xylitol) until the batter is evenly mixed.
Tip: A well‑combined batter ensures even baking.
- 4
Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
Tip: An ice cream scoop helps portion the batter evenly.
- 5
Bake for 20 minutes (or 10-12 minutes for mini-muffins), or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Tip: Rotate the pan halfway through for even cooking.
- 6
Let the muffins cool fully before serving them to your dog.
Tip: Cooling prevents burns and helps the muffins firm up.
