Getting started
Yes — Minsuri works as an app on both iPhone and Android, no App Store required. iPhone: Open minsuri.com in Safari → tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) → tap "Add to Home Screen" → tap Add. Android: Open minsuri.com in Chrome → tap the three-dot menu → tap "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App". The Minsuri icon will appear on your home screen just like any other app.
Photos (JPEG, PNG, HEIC), audio recordings (MP3, M4A, WAV, WebM), and any URL from a recipe website. AI extracts the structured recipe from all three.
The app interface is available in English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can switch in Settings → Language.
Your recipes
Your recipes are private by default. You choose which ones to share to a shared cookbook, and only members can see shared recipes.
Go to Settings → Shared Cookbook → Invite by email. They'll receive an invite link. Once they join, they can see and add recipes to your shared cookbook.
Features
Cook Tonight helps you figure out what to cook with what you already have. Tap the mic on your dashboard, say what's in your fridge, and Minsuri finds matching recipes from your cookbook or Minsuri's curated collection. If nothing matches, you can generate a new recipe from scratch.
Yes. As you save more recipes, Minsuri gets a clearer picture of what you typically keep in your pantry. When you use Cook Tonight, that knowledge helps it suggest recipes that work with what you already have at home.
Cook Together is a guided cooking mode designed for kids. Open any recipe, tap "Cook Together", and choose which child is cooking. Each step is adapted to their level — Helper, Cook, or Chef — with simple language and clear tasks. At the end of the session you award stars, which build up on their profile over time.
The tiers reflect how much independence a child has in the kitchen. Helper: watches and assists with simple tasks like washing or handing ingredients. Cook: handles most prep steps independently with light guidance. Chef: cooks complete dishes with minimal help. You decide when to promote your child — tap the tier card on their profile page when they're ready. Some steps are flagged as a stretch for your child's current level — these are suggestions only. You know your child best.
Stars are awarded at the end of each Cook Together session — you choose how many based on how it went. Skills (like knife work, measuring, or heat) are tracked automatically from the steps your child completed. Over time their profile shows which skills are growing and how many sessions they've done.
